Advice: Prom Prep Work

Monday, January 02, 2012

Whether you want to be the centre of attention or just go along with the crowd, it's time to rethink what you’ll bring to that all important night – the PROM.

Trends for 2012 are diverse and interesting, with the monochromatic leading the pack.

Combined with a mixture of hues (the daring the better) this trend is HOT!

Here’s four ways to suit up for the big night without boring your date—or shocking the teachers.

It’s your chance to man-up to fashion and make your red carpet moment drool worthy.

Party White

A safe color this season is white.

Make it a white combo with all the white trimmings, white suit, white shirt, white tie, white shoes and not to forget white socks – Combine patterns and texture for a creative look – majorly HOT!

Black Power

Who said you should be invisible at your prom?

Combine the black monochromatic look with similar hues but bold them up with dramatic patterns. Finish off your look with some snazzy white shoes.

You and your date will be the No.1 power couple on the ‘D’ floor!

Strike Midnight in a Blue Tux

Pull a card from the red carpet and go for blue instead of black.

It's a fresh tweak on tradition— don’t forget to throw a bow. Bow ties haven't been this big since the '60s.

Remember to dance as slick as you look and you will have the girls dreaming they were your date.

A Sparkly Affair

With all the glitz and glam of the evening don’t let the ladies have all the fun.

Amp up your look with a sequin bow tie and this season’s must haves – white shoes.

Bow Ties are no longer geezer gear! They have been modernized, internationalized, and had the stuffiness sucked out of them. Clip it on or be a grown up and tie your own – Yeah! bow ties are cool AGAIN!!

How will you be turning those heads at your prom this season?
